Helping La Cascia’s Bakery Celebrate a Century in Style
La Cascia’s Bakery has been a fixture in Medford for 100 years. That’s not a small thing. A century of brick oven bread, Italian pastries, and loyal customers who have been coming through the same door for generations. When they reached out to us about marking their 100th anniversary, I knew this was a project we needed to get right.
They didn’t want a small gesture. They wanted the building itself to tell the story. And that’s exactly what we helped them do.
Where It Started
The first conversations with the La Cascia’s team were about honoring what they are. A hundred years is a real milestone, and they weren’t looking for something trendy or modern that might feel out of place with the history they’ve built. At the same time, they wanted something vibrant and eye-catching that would actually stop people on the sidewalk.
We went through a few rounds of concepts together. Interior and exterior options, different approaches to the 100th anniversary graphics, variations on how to integrate the milestone into their existing identity without overwriting it. The back and forth was good. They knew what they wanted, they just needed someone to help them get there visually.
What we landed on was a combination of large format window graphics, custom semi-transparent vinyl icons, and updated signage that worked together as a complete exterior package. Each piece had a job to do, and they all had to feel like they came from the same place.
What We Produced
The window graphics were the centerpiece of the project. Rich, full-color photography of their actual products, fresh bread coming out of a brick oven, pastries, Italian spreads, the full menu brought to life at a scale you can’t miss from across the street. We used large format printing on high-quality vinyl with a finish that holds up to the elements and still looks sharp up close.
The door graphics were designed specifically for the 100th anniversary. A warm, parchment-toned treatment with the anniversary badge and Italian pastry imagery that felt classic and celebratory without being overdone. When you’re standing at the entrance waiting to go in, you’re already surrounded by the story of the place.
On the side of the building, we wrapped several window panels with full photography treatments organized by category, bakery, deli and subs, pizza and calzones, catering, each with a small Italian flag badge. It turns a side entrance into a full menu display that does real marketing work every single day.
We also updated the road sign panel to incorporate the 100 Years badge alongside their product photography and daily baked fresh messaging. That sign is visible from the road and now immediately communicates both what they offer and the milestone they’re celebrating.
A hundred years of history deserves more than a banner. We wanted every window to tell part of the story.
The Installation
I was on site for the installation, which is always my favorite part of a project like this. There’s a moment when the last panel goes up and you take a step back and see the whole thing together for the first time. With La Cascia’s, that moment was genuinely satisfying.
The building went from a fairly plain exterior to something that actually commands attention on the block. The window graphics are bright and warm, the 100th anniversary treatment on the doors is distinctive, and the whole thing hangs together in a way that feels intentional and proud. Which is exactly what a hundred-year-old neighborhood bakery deserves.
The team at La Cascia’s was great throughout the whole process. They were clear about what they wanted, responsive during the design rounds, and genuinely excited when they saw the finished installation. That makes a difference. The best projects are the ones where the client is as invested in the outcome as we are.
Congratulations to La Cascia’s
A hundred years in business in the same community is something to be genuinely proud of. It means generations of loyal customers, a product people trust, and a family that has kept showing up and getting it right decade after decade.
“We had an idea to celebrate our 100th anniversary and wanted to bring some life to the front of the bakery. The team at Superior helped bring that vision together, and the final result came out great, better than expected! Awesome team to work with.”
— Fred Moscaritolo, Owner | La Cascia’s Bakery
We’re glad we got to be part of how they marked the milestone. If you’re driving through Medford, stop in. The brick oven bread is worth it.

Jamie has a genuine passion for seeing projects through from the very first conversation to the finished installation. As an Account Manager at Superior, he doesn’t just manage the relationship from a desk. He’s in the room during the Gather phase, asking the questions that shape the direction of a project. He contributes to the Evaluate and Present phases, helping clients see the full picture before a single thing gets made. And when the job calls for it, Jamie is on site for signage installs and branding activations, the guy standing on the sidewalk watching it all come together in real time. For Jamie, that moment when a project lands the way it was supposed to is what this work is all about.
