On the Road: Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston

Honoring Our Fallen

From Web to Wrap: A Long-Term Partnership With a Mission That Matters

Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission most people will never have to think about, and that’s exactly the point.

They send Boston area police officers to the funerals of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty anywhere in the country. They provide emotional support to the families. They provide financial support to the families. They do the kind of work that nobody talks about until they need it, and that takes a small group of people willing to show up no matter what.

We’ve been their brand partner for years. Their website. Their printed materials. Their design work. The visual identity that has carried them through fundraising galas, community events, and everywhere else they need to show up. So when they were ready to put their brand on the road, they came to us.

This is the story of their new van wrap. But really, it’s the story of what happens when you stay with a client long enough to grow with them.

Where It Started

We’ve been working with Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston long enough that I can’t tell you the exact starting point without going back through the files. That’s the kind of partnership this has been. Project after project, year after year, building out the visual language of an organization that does important and difficult work.

Along the way, we’ve handled web development, print collateral, graphic design, branded apparel, and event materials. Each project added something to the brand. Each project taught us a little more about how this organization wants to present itself in the world. Serious but not somber. Respectful but not stiff. A brand built around honor, gratitude, and the people who give everything in the line of duty.

So when the conversation turned to wrapping a vehicle, we already knew what the brand needed to feel like. The hard work of figuring out the visual identity had been done years ago. This time we just had to put it on wheels.

What We Produced

The van started out as a plain white Dodge ProMaster. By the time we were done, it carried the full Brotherhood brand from front to back.

The dominant graphic on both sides is a clean black line illustration of the Boston skyline, running the length of the van. It’s a strong visual that reads instantly. Whoever sees this van knows exactly where it belongs and who it represents.

Below the skyline sits the full Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston wordmark with the flag motif and star, anchored by blue stripe accents that pick up the thin blue line treatment. The “Honoring Our Fallen” tagline and the website URL run alongside, so anyone who wants to learn more knows exactly where to go. The rear of the van carries the same Boston skyline wrapping around to the back doors. It also includes the Boston version of the Brotherhood for the Fallen national seal, their P.O. box address, and their phone number for anyone who wants to get in touch or contribute to the cause.

We used premium vehicle wrap vinyl rated for long term outdoor use. This van is going to be on the road a lot, in all kinds of weather, in front of all kinds of audiences. The materials had to hold up. The application had to be flawless. And the design had to look right from across a parking lot or from the next lane over on the highway.

We’ve been building this brand for years. Putting it on a van just felt like the next logical chapter.

The Installation

I was on site for the install, and like every vehicle wrap we do, this one came with its own set of challenges. A ProMaster is a big van with curves, recesses, panel seams, and door hardware that all have to be worked around carefully. A wrap that looks perfect when it’s laid out flat can still go wrong on the vehicle if whoever is installing it doesn’t take the time to do it right.

Our install team took the time. The skyline lines up clean across the panels. The wordmark sits straight and level. The vinyl is squeegeed tight around every contour. By the time the van rolled out of our lot, it looked like a finished, professional vehicle, not just a wrapped one.

Congratulations to Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston

Working with Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston is the kind of partnership that reminds you why this work matters. Every time we sit down to start a new project for them, we know we’re helping an organization that exists to support people on what might be the hardest days of their lives. That’s not something we take lightly.

To the entire team at Brotherhood, thank you for letting us be part of what you’re building. The mission matters. The way it shows up in the world matters too. We’re proud to keep helping you put your brand wherever you need it to go.

“We’ve worked with Superior for almost a decade, so when it came time to display our brand on our van, we knew who to turn to. A few minor teaks to the original design concepts and we were off and running. Under a week later we had a van that proudly displayed the Brotherhood for the Fallen – Boston brand. As always, the guys from Superior exceed expectations.”
